Jason Hodge, a JOY youth, graduated from University of South Florida on December 12, 2014, with dual bachelor’s degrees in the disciplines of history and psychology. Jason spoke to the youth gathered for the annual JOY Holiday Party, giving them encouragement to keep following their dreams. He said, “Don’t ever give up, you can succeed.”
JOY welcomed community members to a Tea at Two at the Sarasota Garden Club. Members and guests enjoyed meeting several youth, who modeled clothing from Trendy Threads, as well as a leaf manipulation demonstration from the JOY VP.
JOY displayed an exhibit of information at the Super Hero 5k fundraising event organized by Bridge A Life to increase the awareness of foster care. The event was held May 3, 2014, at G. T. Bray Park, Bradenton, to benefit foster care in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
